The Illinois Section of ITE is holding a webinar event for the benefit of ITE members and guests. The event will be shown at Christopher B. Burke Engineering in Rosemont and 1.5 PDHs will be available to attendees after the webinar.

The webinar presents the efficient, safe, and user-friendly design of on-street and off-street parking in accordance with best practices available today, as well as emerging trends. The presentation focuses on Chapter 13 of the Traffic Engineering Handbook, which covers on-street parking, off-street parking, structured parking, and pedestrian safety in parking lots. Planning topics, such as trends in parking demand, will also be discussed.

Attendees will learn how to identify and apply safe, user-friendly, and appropriate design techniques for convenient parking, design efficient parking plans to avoid unnecessary congestion and waste, and recognize parking designs that reflect the needs of pedestrians as well as drivers.
