 Welcome to the Illinois Section of ITE

Thanks for visiting the Illinois Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ILITE). You can find information on membership, the ITEMS newsletter, student scholarships, news and upcoming activities. Navigate the site by clicking an area in the left or top margin.

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international professional society of more than 11,000 transportation engineers, planners, and others responsible for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods on our streets, highways, and transit systems.

ITE is divided into ten Districts worldwide to better serve its members. The Illinois Section is part of District 4, which encompasses eleven states in the Midwest. Within District 4, there are four sections:

Young Member Award
The Illinois ITE Young Member Award annually recognizes the professional accomplishments and Section contributions of one member under the age of 35. The award provides reimbursement (up to a $2,500 limit) for approved expenses associated with registration and travel for either the Midwestern District Annual Meeting or the ITE International Annual Meeting.
